Puppies

We are family breeders who are continuing our original lines established in the 1980s. As a result of this, we occassionally have puppies available to only the very best homes.

We encourage all prospective owners to properly research the breed they are interested in before fully committing. We will only home puppies to the best possible homes, and all interested will be questioned and vetted.

We ask that all prospective owners come to visit our puppies with their mother before they are able to reserve one. Whilst we do not own stud dogs, we use those belonging to friends and fellow experienced breeders, and provide full transparency on who the stud is, offering prospective owners the opportunity to contact the stud owner if they so wish.

Our puppies are all registered with the Kennel Club, and come with all the necessary paperwork.

All puppies will go to their new homes microchipped and registered and fully vaccinated; this means we keep the puppies until they are 10 weeks or older. They are all raised in our home, and are well socialised with children, adults and other dogs. You will receive a full deposit contract, puppy ownership contract, vaccination and health record, pedigree, puppy care pack, a supply of your puppy’s food and feeding guide and a toy to help them settle in their new home.

As we are small, family breeders, we do not have a litter at all times, and there is currently a waiting list for all GBGVs and Wire-Haired Dachshunds. We also are unable to guarantee when our next litter will be, as we only breed to continue our lines. Our dogs are all our family pets and we will only breed from dogs free of health and temperament problems.

Please note:

We only breed puppies that are recognised breed standard colours and we do not take colour requests. This is because we cannot guarantee what colour puppies will be.
We do not breed Dachshunds with dilute colours of Isabella, Blue, and Cream (this is only recognised in Long-Haired Dachshunds). We also do not breed Dapple Coloured Dachshunds.

Please let us know when you are looking for a puppy. This helps us manage our waiting lists as mating seasons differ for each of our dogs. Please note that we do not home puppies in the lead up to Christmas.

Do you have experience with the breeds selected?

Are you planning on taking the dog abroad for either a holiday or permanent move?

Please note all our dogs are endorsed with the Kennel Club and cannot be exported without our permission. If you live abroad, please provide more information as to why you have chosen us as breeder. We occassionally will home dogs abroad, but there is an additional approval process for this and the buyer is responsible for all additional costs.

Do you have a garden and is it secure?

Please detail the approximate height of your fence/ wall/ hedges and if there are any holes along the bottom.

Do you own your home? If not, do you have permission from the homeowner/ landlord to have a dog?

Is there someone at home most of the day? If not, what provisions will you have in place for the puppy when you are not home?

Do you have steps in your house or garden, or any walls or drops?

Please provide a description if so, and how these can be made puppy-safe.

Will the puppy have full access to your home, and if not then can you please tell us a bit about the area they will be confined to and the rough size of it?

Are you planning on crate training?

We are happy to provide advice on this if needed.

Are you aware of the breed-specific illnesses that can affect the breed you are interested in?

This includes IVDD and PRA in Dachshunds- please don't worry if not, we provide all the relevant information ahead of your first visit!

Are you planning on keeping the puppy as a pet or would you be planning on breeding and/or showing?

Please note that all our puppies are endorsed with the Kennel Club, meaning they cannot be bred from or exported without our permission. We will only be willing to discuss a breeding arrangement with an experienced breeder or someone who already has a relationship with us. We are willing to sell show puppies, however this will determine which puppy you are able to choose.

Will the puppy have frequent contact with small children?

All our puppies and adults are used to small children, however it is important to us that our puppies are around children who are responsible and able to respect a dog's boundaries.

Do you understand that, if you are no longer able to keep the dog, at any age, that they must be returned to us and we will find them a suitable home?
